About the Role
As a Sr. Cloud Engineer at Knotch, you will be a vital member of our dynamic and innovative engineering team, responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations to facilitate continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of software solutions. You will be working with our Software Development team to ensure high productivity with stable environment provisioning and also with our Security team to maintain our Soc2 compliance standards.

How you will add value at Knotch

  • Design and maintain scalable infrastructure for our platforms (pre-prod and production), ensuring performance, reliability, and security across all environments.
  • Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
  • Wear multiple hats as DevOps/SRE working with engineers (onshore and offshore) as needed
  • Environment Management and Promotion: Establish and manage multiple environments (development, staging, production) to support the software development lifecycle. Implement environment promotion and configuration management processes, ensuring consistency and reproducibility across environments
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment of DevOps practices with business objectives. Document architecture, design decisions, cost optimization strategies, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding
  • Deliver dashboards and reports to a wide audience demonstrating our current program state and adherence to framework standards
You will successful if you bring:
  • 5+ years prior DevOps, SRE experience in a SaaS/PaaS/IaaS environment
  • Expert-level skills in Terraform
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, WAF, Network and data-related services
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, CircleCI
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, Git. 
  • Experience of cloud costs optimization
  • The mindset to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, prioritizing and delivering on evolving timelines.
  • Dependability traits and show a sense of urgency about getting results
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing security, user, and business requirements
  • Communication skills, empathy and expertise to instill confidence 
  • Ability to context switch between multiple tasks
  • Excellent documentation skills and a care for tracking context and purpose
  • Ability to speak and read English is required.

Our Benefits and Perks:

  • Salary - The expected salary range for this role is $120,000 - $170,000 CAD depending on experience.
  • Knotch is a fully remote company. Candidates can work from anywhere in Canada for this position.
